Chris Burns studied at Purdue University, Kalamazoo College, and then Vanderbilt University, where he graduated from Vanderbilt’s School of Law in 1985. Early in his career, Chris developed a reputation for hard work, intelligence and an aggressive but fair approach. It wasn’t long before he started to make a name for himself, ultimately working his way to partnership at the esteemed law firm of Terrell Hogan. The Terrell Hogan firm is where you’ll find Chris Burns, ESQ., helping cyclists seek justice every day.
Chris has worked on hundreds of personal injury cases in a wide variety of areas, yet he is best known for cases involving cycling crashes throughout Florida.
“Typically, a love of law and cycling don’t go hand in hand,” says Chris. “I’ve found they’re quite similar, however. Both require agility, having a razor sharp focus on a goal, a tenacious attitude, and never being satisfied with anything less than the maximum result.”
While Chris spent years as a passionate advocate for those hurt or killed in cycling accidents, it was his own cycling accident that fueled his fire like never before.

Chris recently shattered his eye orbit, cheek bone, both sinuses, clavicle and fractured 3 ribs.
“I know first hand, the pain and frustration a cyclist feels after being victimized in an accident. Motorists often have the attitude that you got what you deserve, because you were just in their way. You have a legal right to be riding your bike, and to be treated safely. When you’ve been wronged, you deserve fairness and justice.
A cycling victim’s physical and emotional damages can be staggering and the financial implications can be catastrophic. In order to effectively persuade a judge or jury that cyclists must be treated safely and fairly, it is critical that your attorney doesn’t just recite an argument off a notepad. It takes someone who can speak to every detail with authority, from experience and with conviction. That makes all the difference.”
